Davide Cucino


Davide Cucino, head of Fincantieri's activities in Brussels at EU and NATO


Born in Vicenza, Italy, in 1966. Graduated with honors from theCa' Foscari University Venice at Oriental Studies, he later specialized at Peking University in ancient Chinese history. He lived for more than 30 years in China before moving to Brussels in early 2020.

Since January 2020, he has been responsible for Fincantieri's activities in Brussels at the EU and NATO.

From 2017 to April 2020, he was president of Fincantieri (Shanghai) Trading Co. Ltd.

After consulting for a number of companies in the Chinese market, from 2005 to 2016 he was Regional Manager pe Leonardo Finmeccanica, serving as Vice President, Global Markets Coordination while simultaneously maintaining various positions in group-invested companies in China.

From 2010 to 2016, he was CEO of Ansaldo Railways Systems Beijing.

He is President Emeritus of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, having served as its President-elect from 2011 to 2014 and currently represents the EUCCC in Brussels.

He was president-elect of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China from 2017 to 2020 after also serving as its president from 2002 - 2010; he also served as a board member of Assocamerestero and coordinator of the Italian Chambers of Commerce in Asia and South Africa.

He is a member of the Teaching Board of the Master's Program in Global Management for China at the University of Macerata and of the Consilium of the Department of Management at Ca' Foscari University and the Steering Committee of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Naples L'Orientale.

He received in 2010 the honor of Cavaliere Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana from the Presidency of the Republic. In the same year, he was honored by Ca' Foscari University as "Cafoscarino in the World," and in 2011 he received the "Capital Elite" award from the Italy-China Foundation as the Italian manager with the greatest responsibilities in China.

He was also awarded the honor of Master of Labor by the Presidency of the Republic in 2017.

In 2019, he was named an "Ambassador" of Ca' Foscari in the world by the Ca' Foscari University Alumni Association.

He has been an advisor to numerous institutions and organizations and has participated as a speaker and moderator in international seminars and forums.

In 2012, he published his first geopolitical book on China ("Coming Soon China", Bollati Boringhieri).

He is a member of the Scientific Committee of the journal Chinese World and periodically writes articles and essays in journals and collections.
